Sachin Tendulkar: India is on the right path to transform from a sports-loving to a sports-playing nation
Tendulkar was impressed with the number of inspiring stories of sportsmen, who overcame the challenges to excel.
Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar heaped praise on the new sporting culture present in India currently, admitting that the country is on course of becoming a place where sports is of great importance.
Adding that India is now no longer a sports-loving country, but a sports-playing land as well, Tendulkar was impressed with the number of inspiring stories of sportsmen, who overcame the challenges to excel.
"There are inspiring stories I witness every, of how sports has helped transform individuals to become better versions of themselves," he said.
"India is on the right path to transform from a sports -loving nation to a sports-playing nation and events like these (IDBI Federal Life Insurance Half Marathon) have a huge part to play in encouraging people to step out and keep moving, Tendulkar was quoted as saying.
The Master Blaster is the brand ambassador of the IDBI Bank Federal Life Insurance, and will be flagging off its Mumbai Half Marathon that will be held on August 25.
Around 17,500 runners will be a part of the edition that is in its fourth year.
