After the Cricket Advisory Committee decided to re-appoint Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the Indian cricket tem, the selection panel will now gather together to name the support staff who will join Shastri and be a part of the coaching set-up of the Indian Cricket team. The process started on Monday and will be completed on Thursday, with all the members being announced then.

A BCCI source stated that the Board will wait for all the names to be finalized before making the names public.

"The process starts today and will continue till Thursday. The announcements of the candidates will be made on Thursday after the whole process is completed. No point going one name at a time," the functionary explained.

The CAC had wanted to be a part of the process of the support staff as well, but that would have meant going against the BCCI constituition. In the newly-framed rule book, the CAC is in charge of appointing the head coach, while the national selectors are to pick the rest of the support staff.

Bharat Arun, bowling coach, is likely to retain his post after the Indian team has shown considerable improvement in the bowling department in the last few years. For the fielding coach, there will be a toss up between R. Sridhar and Jonty Rhodes, while batting coach Sanjay Bangar is likely to lose his job after the team failed to find a suitable number four batsman in the last few years. Praveen Amre might take his place.
