Exceptional display by experienced campaigner Arjun Deshwal on Saturday helped U Mumba pip Puneri Paltan by 33-23 at NSCI Stadium to get Mumbai leg of Pro Kabaddi season 7 underway.
Both the teams started the proceedings of the match quite well. There were successful raids from both sides and some terrific defence as well. The things were going almost on a balanced scale with U Mumba leading by just two points at the end of the first half.
However, things made a sharp turnaround in the second half. U Mumbai made quite a few successful raids to all-out Paltans. They now clinched a bigger lead of 15-9. Showing his cheeky skills on the mat, Arjun Deshwal eliminated Manjeet and Surjeet Singh.
Lastly, Sandeep Narwal provided the finishing top as he left Sushant Sail clueless with a heroic block. The match concluded with the home side taking a 33-23 lead to run away with a dominating win.
It was the twelfth match of Pro Kabaddi season 7 and first of Mumbai leg. Indian skipper Virat Kohli earlier inaugurated the event. He even did the trending thigh-five to give fans some cherish moments.
