Nick Webb is Indian cricket team's new strength and conditioning coach
Webb was chosen, with Luke Woodhouse and Rajnikanth Sivagnanam coming second and third respectively.
The Indian selection panel led by MSK Prasad finalized Nick Webb as the next strength and conditioning coach of the Indian Cricket Team, the BCCI said in a statement.
The five-member selection committee met at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru last week along with fitness expert Ranadeep Moitra, and extensively interviewed the five candidates who had been shortlisted for the job. Eventually Webb was chosen, with Luke Woodhouse and Rajnikanth Sivagnanam coming second and third respectively.
"The background check and all is done and just the CoA's go-ahead is left and once that is finished, the coaches will be handed their contracts. The strength and conditioning coaches are currently undergoing their practical assessment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). So once that is done, all the signings will be done together by the three-member committee. The contracts come into effect from September 5 so we still have some time to complete the process," a BCCI functionary told IANS.
