Former Indian opener Vikram Rathour replaced Sanjay Bangar as the batting coach of the Indian cricket team, while Bharat Arun and R Sridhar retained their jobs of bowling and fielding coaches respectively.

The selection committee led by MSK Prasad has recommended three names in each category, and the top name will be appointed after the Conflict of Interest angles for each is looked into.

Rathour, who has played only six Tests and 7 ODIs for India way back in 1996 did not taste much success in international cricket, but was a fine player for Punjab. He was also a national selector till 2016.

"Vikram Rathour has got enough experience and we are convinced with his skill sets (as a coach). We will ask him to declare if he has any conflict," BCCI CEO Rahul Johri told reporters.

"The team management had their own views but looking ahead, we felt there should be some freshness in the support staff," Johri said.

Former Indian physio Nitin Patel, who was with the team in 2011, was re-appointed, while England's Luke Woodhouse was appointed as the strength and conditioning coach of the Indian team.

Team India manager Sunil Subramaniam, who was recently in the news for misbehaving with top officials of the Indian government in West Indies recently, has been replaced by Girish Dongre.
