Team India took an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series after beating West Indies by 22 runs (DLS method) in the second T20I. In the first T20I it was debutant Navdeep Saini who impressed one and all with his bowling performance. In the second T20I it was the turn of Chennai born off-spinner Washington Sundar to come up with the goods. The youngster bowled three overs giving away just 12 runs and picked up the wicket of Sunil Narine. Skipper Virat Kohli heaped praise on Washington Sundar for exhibiting outstanding composure in India's victory.

He said, "Starting with the new ball, the way Sundar has bowled against guys who come hard at the ball, he's done a tremendous job. The composure he's shown has been outstanding. He's become fitter, leaner and is very handy with the bat as well. He is definitely going to be a factor for us."

In the second T20I, skipper Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. Carrying on his glorious form from the ICC World Cup 2019, Rohit Sharma made a strokeful 67 off 51 balls. Later, in the dying stages of the innings, Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja chipped in as India posted 167 in their allotted twenty overs.

In reply, the West Indies side lost Evin Lewis and Sunil Narine within three overs and were playing catch up cricket. Rovman Powell's 54 kept the Windies in the hunt. Later, Krunal Pandya sent him packing and helped India take control of the game. They were 98 for four in 15.3 overs when rain forced play to be suspended.

Virat Kohli also hinted that the team would be making some changes in the final T20I.

"Winning is always going to be priority. But sealing the series gives the chance to bring few guys in. Idea is always going to be to win first. But winning the first two games gives the cushion."

"We set up a good foundation. Good finish from Jadeja and Krunal to get us past 160. The way we are going, could have got to 180, but pitch slowed down considerably in latter half."

The final T20I will be played at Guyana on 6th August.
