India vs West Indies: It was a great experience playing in USA - Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya was the Man of the Match in the second T20I at Florida on Sunday, after picking up 2 wickets and scoring 20 runs in 13 balls with the bat.
Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya stated that it was a great experience playing in USA, and was grateful for the fans who turned up at Florida to support the team. Team India faced West Indies in the first two T20Is at Florida, winning both rather convincingly to go 2-0 up in the series. The third and final game will be held at Guyana on August 6.
Pandya, who picked up 2 wickets and scored 20 runs in 13 balls in the second game said that it was a pleasure playing in the USA.
“It was a great experience playing in the USA. From whatever I have heard, cricket is developing in the USA which is a great thing, and everyone in the team was looking forward to play two T20Is here.
“The first game got close, and even today we got about 35 overs. There are plenty of Indians here, we had great support, and it was a good experience for us also.”
The elder Pandya brother also recounted his meeting with childhood friend Nisarg Chokshi, who he played age cricket with while growing up in Vadodra. Chokshi, now an American citizen, wanted to play cricket for USA professionally after moving to the country aged 15.
“It’s a proud feeling for me, and I’m sure that they would be proud of me as well,” Pandya said about meeting Chokshi and his family after so many years. “He’s my childhood friend, we used to play U12s and U14s together. I met him yesterday, and it was so good to see him coming down to support me.”
