India vs West Indies 2019: Kemar Roach feels that he was unlucky to have missed out on a Test hat-trick

West Indies pacer Kemar Roach has had a memorable Test series against India. He followed up his five-wicket haul in the first Test with another fiery spell in the second innings of the second Test where he finished with figures of 3/28. He picked up the wickets of openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal before pricing out skipper Virat Kohli for a golden duck. He almost picked up a hat-trick, after he had dismissed KL Rahul and Virat Kohli off successive deliveries after which he got Ajinkya Rahane's inside edge off the hat-trick ball which missed the stumps by a whisker.

Now, he has 193 wickets from 55 Tests and has gone past Wes Hall, who had picked up 192 wickets in 48 Tests. Roach is currently at number nine in the list of leading wicket-takers for West Indies in Test cricket.

After the day's play Roach said that he was unlucky to miss out on his hat-trick. "Of course! Inside edge missing the stumps - a bit unlucky but I am pretty happy with what happened."

"It was a good feeling. Obviously, the Indian batting line-up is very strong, so to be on a hat-trick against those guys is obviously a good feeling. I'd have liked to get it, but a little more luck the next time it hits on the stumps and it will go my way, but I am pretty happy for what happened."

West Indies were set a target of 468 by the Indians. At the end of third day's play, they were 45 for 2. But Roach was optimistic about his team's chances in the Test.

He said, "There is more than enough time. Two days left in the Test match. Just bat. Nothing more to be said about that. The guys haven't had a good score in this Test series so far, so it's about guys just applying themselves and going out there and being positive and put some runs on the board."
