ICC Test Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah, Ajinkya Rahane and Ben Stokes enter top 10
Jasprit Bumrah and Ajinkya Rahane produced an impressive performance to help India beat West India and clinch their first win in the World Test Championship.
The ICC World Test Championship currently underway with six teams battling it out for the ultimate prize. The players have been performing exceptionally well in the different series due to which they have been able to garner points in the latest ICC rankings. In the recent list released by the ICC Team India pacer, Jasprit Bumrah broke into top 10 for the first time. He climbed nine places to No.7 with a career-high 774 points.
Apart from Bumrah's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who scored his 10th Test hundred in India's World Test Championship campaign opener, also entered into Top 10 after gaining one position to move to10th spot.
Australian pacer Pat Cummins continues to be on top of bowler ranking list, while Kiwi Trent Boult, who reached 250 Test wickets has re-entered the top 5.
England all-rounder Ben Stokes’ heroics in the Headingley Test has taken him to No.2 on the ICC Test Rankings for All-rounders. He rose by two places with a career-best 411 rating points.
Among batsmen, India captain Virat Kohli leads the list, while his counterparts from Sri Lanka and England, Dimuth Karunaratne and Joe Root, have made a move in the ranking. The Sri Lanka skipper moved up two places to No 6, while Root, who shook off a spell of poor form with a fighting half-century with the series on the line, followed him at No.7.
