Test cricket is set to undergo a massive change from the Ashes that starts from August 1 at Edgbaston. For the first time ever, Test cricketers will sport their names and numbers on the back of their Test whites.

The England Cricket Board tweeted a picture of Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad and Joe Root with their names and numbers. The ICC too shared the images.

However, Twitter fans were divided over this new development.

While the ODI and T20I jerseys already have player names and numbers on the backs, the Test kit has not seen such modernisation. The ICC, in March, had agreed and given the go-ahead for the kits that will be used for the Ashes to have numbers and names. However, it is uncertain if the Aussies will use numbers as well.

County cricket, though, sees players sport their names on the back of their jerseys, while the players playing in Australia's domestic tournament, Sheffield Shield, too have numbers.

The first Ashes Test starts from August 1.
