England have made one change to their Test team that defeated Australia at Leeds last week, by picking Craig Overton over Chris Woakes for the fourth Test that begins on Wednesday at Manchester.

Woakes failed to impress in the three Tests thus far, picking only 9 wickets in six innings. His chances were further hampered by the phenomenal debut of Jofra Archer, who has picked up 13 wickets in only two games.

Skipper Joe Root stated that Overton would get his first Test chance on Wednesday, after more than a year - having played his last Test against New Zealand in March 2018.

The only other change in the English team for the Test will be in their batting order -with Joe Denly opening the batting and Jason Roy moving down to bat at number 4.

"England captain Joe Root has also confirmed that Joe Denly will move to the top of the batting order to open with Rory Burns, with Jason Roy set to bat at No 4," ECB's statement read.

Australia, on the other hand, have made two changes - Usman Khawaja and James Pattinson have been dropped for Mitchell Starc and Steven Smith.

The series is tied 1-1 with two games still to go in the Ashes.
