Australia were en route clincing the Ashes after they dismissed England for only 67 runs on Day 2 of the third Test that is being played at Leeds. In turn, Australia, who scored 179 in the first innings, were at 171 for 6 in their second innings. They now have a lead of 283 runs, and England are all set to chase a target of over 300 in their last innings.

On a tough day for the hosts, England posted their second lowest total in an Ashes game since 1904 as they were all out for less than 70. It was also their 12th lowest total in Test cricket, and the fourth time since 2018 that England have scored less than 100 in an innings. Joe Denly, with 12 runs, was the highest run-scorer for his side in the innings.

Josh Hazlewood led the Australian bowling attack beautifully as he picked up 5 for 30, with Pat Cummins and James Pattinson contributing with three and two wickets respectively. Jason Roy, who was the star in England's World Cup winning campaign last month, failed to deliver once again in Test cricket as he fell for 9. He now has only 49 runs in five innings to take his average to 9.8.

England were 54 for 6 at lunch, and lost their last four wickets in only 23 balls as Australia strengthened their grip in the game and in the series.
