Inside Scoop on The Big Fat Bollywood Wedding of Asin & Rahul!
Thee soft-spoken Asin has always maintained a rather low profile when it comes to her personal life. Perhaps that is why not many were surprised when the popular actress recently tied the knot with close friend Rahul Sharma during a low key ceremony. The couple first exchanged vows in a church on Tuesday and then re-married according to Hindu traditions in the evening.
While the Christian wedding was attended by 50 people, the second function took place in the presence of nearly 200 guests. Asin’s bridal attire for the Christian wedding was designed by Vera Wang and the actress looks gorgeous with a dapper Rahul by her side.
Interestingly, just a few days before her wedding, Asin took to Twitter and shared her wedding card. The invitation was put in a suave white box and reeked of elegance. Moreover, the couple’s name was embedded in gold.
As far as the wedding is concerned, it took place without a hitch and complete secrecy was maintained. The staff did not let any uninvited guests enter the premises and also stated that the hotel would remain closed for two days.
Once all was said and done, some close friends joined the couple for a lavish lunch. As it so happens, the Ghajini actress’ dress was designed by none other than the prolific Sabyasachi Mukerjee.
On a related note, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who is the Indian brand ambassador of Rahul’s company, had introduced him to Asin some time ago. Needless to say, the Baby star was first person to receive their wedding card.Moreover, he also served as the best man during the wedding.
While the wedding is now a done deal, the celebrations are far from over. It is rumoured that the two will be hosting a private house party in Mumbai later this week.
