Following mixed response from audiences and critics, the makers of Suriya-starrer Tamil action-thriller "Maattrraan" have cut it short to impress a larger segment of moviegoers.

"The film is cut by about three minutes in the first half, while the second half has been reduced by about 22 minutes," a source in the industry told IANS.

"Mattrraan", directed by K.V. Anand, released Oct 12 worldwide in about 1,400 screens. The film was originally 2 hours and 35 minutes long.

Kajal Agarwal, Sachin Khedekar and Tara were also part of the film, which is a story about two conjoined twins played by Suriya.
