Abhay's Ode To SRK
AbhayDeol seems to be fully entering a commercial zone after ZNMD. In his next filmRock The Shaadi the edgy actor essays a role which is in a way an ode to SRK ofDDLJ. Abhay’s character would be borrowing from Raj, the character which wasmade immortal by SRK in DDLJ.
Considered almost opposite to each other Abhay Deol and SRK earlier crossed each others creative path too. While SRK did a Devdas, Abhay Deol did its more youthfulversion in Dev.D.
But inRock The Shaadi he consciously pays a tribute to the character of DDLJ. Theingredients of the character are the same albeit its contemporary and the humoris that today’s youth will identify with. “ the style and mannerisms would bevery much Abhay but in spirit the character is an evolution of Raj of DDLJ.”
Not many know that Abhay Deol is an unabashed fan of DDLJ as a film.
