Housefull 2 Ladies Special

Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik sat down with Asin, Zarine Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez, the beautiful ladies of Housefull 2 for an exclusive chat about the much-awaited film.

Housefull 2 : The Dirty Dozen, is a sequel to one of 2010's biggest hits Housefull. This mad caper promises to take you on a roller coaster ride, full with fun, laughter, emotions and action!

Tell me about your characters in Housefull 2.

Asin: I play a girl called Heena and she is the daughter of Rishi Kapoor in the film. We are a family who live in London and have an extended family here as well. Rishi Kapoor has a brother in the film, played by his real life brother Randhir Kapoor. In the film they are called Chintu and Dabboo. Randhir Kapoor plays my uncle and he has a daughter, Bobby who is played by Jaqueline Fernandez. My character is an animal rights activist. She works for an organization called LAW which means Loving Animals Worldwide. That’s about my character in the film.

Jacqueline: I play a girl called Bobby in the film and I am an animal right activist (like Asin) and work for LAW which is Loving Animals Worldwide. I also play the daughter of Randhir Kapoor, who is trying to get his daughter, played by me, married to someone who is really rich and successful.
Zarine: I play a character called JLo, I am playing a supermodel in the movie. My love interest in the film is played by Riteish Deshmukh. I could very much relate to my character because she is very bossy and that is how I am, in real life.

What is the story of Housefull 2 ?

Jacqueline: What actually happens is that all four girls in the movie, all the brides-to-be think that they are marrying a guy called Jolly.
Asin: Housefull 2 is about fathers, daughters and it’s about these four friends and their interrelationship and confusions which are created. That’s what the film is about. It’s obviously a comedy, an entertainer, a mainstream commercial film.
Zarine: Everybody is going to be laughing their guts out.

How was your experience doing comedy ?

Zarine: My last film was a really serious movie (Veer ) and I wanted to do something more commercial and funny. I got the chance to do that and I am more than happy.
Jacqueline: The girls are in a more situational comedy and not really performing many of the comic scenes. But trying to keep a poker straight face when you have amazing comic artists like Johnny Lever, Chunky Pandey and Akshay Kumar, that I think, was the most difficult thing.

Asin: I have a good time doing it. . I think, it just happened coincidentally that Ready and Housefull 2 are both comedy films and are releasing one after the other

All the girls bonded really well during the making of the film. That is unusual.

Asin: All four of us (including Shahzan Padamsee) bonded really really well. We are on each other’s BlackBerry Messenger, we are constantly messaging each other even though the shoot of the film has wrapped months ago. Whether we are promoting the film or not, whether we are shooting the film or not, we are constantly in touch with each other. We have really created a strong friendship amongst each other
Zarine: There have been no cat fights and we have all been like one big happy family. We have had no jealousy and insecurities. We were just there working and had our girl gang. We were having fun, chilling out and even when we were not shooting, we were going out and making plans.
Jacqueline: You know, during lunch time we all would hang out together. We were all very close and bonded really well. We shared meals all the time.
