Wedding special: Here's how to plan your most perfect honeymoon
Hint: Don't rush into it, take your time and splurge for the holiday of your lifetime!
When it comes to weddings, most importance is given to all the events - sangeet, mehendi and most importantly, the actual wedding. Barely any thought is given to the honeymoon, other than picking out the destination. But what most people don't understand, is that this is going to be the trip of your lifetime. It is the first trip you will be taking with your partner of a lifetime. It is not just meant to relax after the wedding stress and get to know each other better but also get those Insta-worthy pictures and participate in some fun activities.
At the end of the day, planning a honeymoon is not as easy as it seems, but here are some tips that are sure to help you out
Don't rush
When anybody says the word honeymoon, the image of the newlyweds driving away in a vintage car with balloons and ribbons, comes to mind immediately. The problem with this is that weddings are stressful, and if you are heading to a destination post the stress rather than relax, you are bound to feel fatigued and only want to lay indoors. A better option would be to go on the honeymoon a couple of months later and save yourself from being permanently exhausted on your getaway.
Take a mini-moon

If you still want to head out after your wedding, try going for a mini-moon. The trip will ideally be for three days and is much shorter than a honeymoon. This is beneficial as it helps in avoiding the post-wedding blues - you get your vacation and get to go on a longer vacation later, something to look forward to!
Dream big
Since you can splurge for this trip, don't hold back on the spots you want to choose. Dream big - Tokyo, London, Switzerland, The States, Canada. Since it is your honeymoon, your work will give you your space and your privacy will be respected. Make the most of this and go big!
Research
When you finalise on a location, don't forget to do adequate research on the location. Check out the best months to visit, the safe areas, and more before making final bookings.
Get special treatment

Don't hold back from announcing to people that you are on your honeymoon for you might end up getting upgrades from regular rooms to the honeymoon suite, complimentary champagne, upgrade to business class from economy and so much more!
Act like locals
This may seem like a contradiction to the previous tip, but once you head out of your safe zone aka the hotel, flight or more, try to blend in as much as possible. This will help you feel the authentic vibe of the place and explore as much as you can.
Most importantly, the point of the honeymoon is to chill out and relax with your partner. Wherever you decide to go, having fun should be top priority!
