"Wow..you're glowing!" are magical words that make any woman feel great about themselves, especially if you're newly married. Every new bride knows the do's and dont's for skincare before the big day, but how do you look as radiant once the whole do is over?

Weddings are super fun and one of the most significant days in a girls life, however, there's no denying that if you're Indian, and bound to tie the knot 'the big fat Indian wedding' style, the pressure can be insane! Whether it's planning and arrangements, or pre and post wedding ceremonies, the whole process can be pretty draining and mentally exhausting.

Unfortunately, this tiredness sometimes reflects on a newly wedded brides face, and the 'natural glow' can sometimes be replaced with puffy under eyes or dull, dehydrated looking skin. Anyhow, the point of this article is not to emphasise on what can go wrong, but to keep assured that this situation can be avoided and your post-wedding glow can be achieved, and quite simply, if I may add.

Just follow these simple skin care routines, and you'll be just fine, we promise!

1. Post the big wedding ceremony, there will be many 'new daughter-in-law' sessions that you might have to go through. Though you might feel like not wearing makeup for a while and letting your skin breathe a little, you can't afford to meet the folks looking like you're unwell or uninterested. In this case, experts suggest the use of non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturizers, especially oil free variants.

2. Though trying any new brand/products before your wedding day is a big no-no, the theory stands true for the post-nuptial period too. New products can trigger skin reactions that could sometimes take a couple of weeks to calm down. No one wants's skin rashes or breakouts during this time.

3. Eating healthy after the first few days of your wedding is close to impossible. Wherever you go, you're offered delicious methai's (sweets) and people serve the richest food which may be yummy to eat, but are not very skin-friendly. To deal with this, consulting a dermatologist before your wedding, is a good idea. He will suggest appropriate multi-vitamins that will help you maintain your skin glow from inside, ensuring you can feast, stress-free!

4. Grand weddings are synonymous with heavy make-up, late nights, alcohol and so on. All this can easily lead to dark circles and dehydrated skin, which will make you look tired and dull. Beat the situation with a glass of water every hour and also after every cocktail you sip on. Though it might cause you to go to the toilet more frequently, trust us, it works like a miracle! Also, it will help you avoid any chances of a hangover.

5.  Waxing and threading before your big day could lead to some skin rashes and lumps and bumps that may ruin your perfect post-wedding glow. If you think you're prone to such a thing, use a calamine lotion on thoSe areas that have been affected before going to bed, and wake up with perfect skin.

6. The rose petal homemade face pack is a tried and tested one, which works wonders! Crush some rose petals with some milk for oily skin and with milk cream for dry skin, apply the face pack for 20 minutes and then wash it off with water. Roses and milk are magical for the skin, and are bound to give you that luminous glow!

7. Cleaning all your makeup brushes is a big must! Though this is not given enough importance, your skin will reward you with a glow, once you get into the habit of using clean brushes. Clean, sanitised brushes are always helpful and won't cause any irritation on your skin when you apply make-up. Buy a makeup brush cleanser and cleanse away, pronto!

8. Get a professional facial done, once the whole nuptial ceremonies are over. There is no substitute for a good facial done by a skincare expert. However, ask around and read reviews before zeroing on a place. Don't scrounge when it comes to your skin, and always go pro!
