Getting married in the rainy season might be romantic but there's no denying that it can also get a wee bit chaotic. Though every season has it's pros and cons and lists of dos and don'ts for the bride-to-be, the monsoons are a particularly tough season to deal with. Be it your skin, makeup, the streets getting mucky or the unavoidable traffic jams around this time, if you don't have things pre-planned and organised, there are high chances of disaster.

In order to help every monsoon bride, we've broken it down to a list of things you should keep in mind before your special day. These tips and tricks will surely help you in a huge way!

1. Go easy on the cosmetics

It's the most special day of your life and you rightfully want to look your best and be the centre of attention. However, applying too much makeup during monsoon is not the best idea. Instead, try using minimal, non-greasy makeup, which will help mattify your skin. Don't forget to pick waterproof products as the moisture in the air could easily ruin your look.

2. Get enough sleep

Pre-wedding anxiety is a very normal thing and it's totally acceptable to feel restless and be on tenterhooks. However, you must remember to put your stress away for a while and get that super important beauty sleep. With all the ceremonies and rituals that you'd need to be present at, you would obviously wouldn't want to be tired out and come across as lethargic.

3. Avoid experimenting

Brides-to-be are always browsing the internet or reading up magazines on new and improved (miraculous) beauty treatments that will enhance their look on THE day. Though that is another normal thing, it is advisable to stay away from any new product or procedure just before your wedding day. If you do experiment with something your skin isn't used to, your skin may suddenly have a negative reaction to the products and you might just have breakouts or rashes.

4. Don't forget your feet

While most people invest a good amount of time in looking after their faces, hair and clothes, many often forget to pay much attention to their feet. Taking good care of your feet is as important as any other part of your body and they should preferably look smooth, soft and clean right before your wedding day. In order to achieve this, try soaking your feet in warm water and use a pumice stone to gently scrub off any dry skin. After that, don't forget to moisturise your feet. Regular pedicures also help a great deal and will make your feet look pretty as ever in your gorgeous footwear.

5. Eat more protein

Pre-wedding anxiety can cause you to get sudden hunger pangs that are sometimes uncontrollable. While you would feel like gobbling up everything in sight, calm your nerves and have a seat. Extra bulges and excess weight is the last thing you'd want right before your wedding so outsmart those cravings and instead of piling up on junk, fill your stomach with foods that are rich in protein. Maintain a balance by eating salmon, eggs, carrots, dark green veggies, nuts and low-fat dairy products. You'll feel and even look better!
