We are all familiar with the 3 R’s – Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. Reusing and reducing are two of the easiest things to do and we manage to do it every day but some of us fail to understand the importance of recycling and how much it matters. We don’t understand what a big impact recycling has on our environment. Our environment is currently screaming out for help and recycling provides that help in the biggest possible way. It helps us save our eco-system a hundred different ways. We are currently facing a big problem with our natural resources. We have been rapidly using up these resources without understanding the impact it may have on our lives and future generations. We do not want to leave the next generation with no lights and fuel. We don’t want them to go back to the stone age and struggle every day. But there are a lot of questions surrounding recycling. Here’s the answer to your biggest question.

1. It helps conserve our natural resources. When we recycle, we reduce the demand for the extraction and processing of raw materials. This means that we save the pollution that occurs during the process of obtaining raw materials and we also save the resources from where we extract the raw materials. We reduce pollution and we save our environment of being stripped of any more of the natural resources.

2. Obtaining raw materials and processing them and producing them consumes a lot of energy. But when we recycle, we save on a lot of energy resources as well. Producing new products requires more energy than that required in producing something from recycled raw material. We save on energy consumption.

3. Every time you spend money on buying recycled products you save the eco-system. When we recycle the products that require raw materials from wildlife, we save the entire eco-system from being disrupted. This means that because you chose to buy second-hand furniture, you saved a few trees from being chopped and a few animals from being displaced.

4. Recycling reduces our carbon footprint on the face of the earth. It reduces the toxic gas emissions which cause global warming and depletes our ozone layer.

5. When we recycle, we save our environment which in turn saves all of us. It saves us humans from living a degenerate life. Saving the environment is as good as saving an extra breath.
