Veganism is a diet in which people don’t eat animal produce. They exclude milk, eggs, meat, dairy products like cheese and paneer. This diet includes only plant produce. People switch to this diet in order to be ethical and for the environment. They try to maintain the balance of nature by not using any animal produce. Some do it because they do not want to kill an animal or steal a calf’s milk for their own selfish purposes.
A vegan diet includes legumes and grains and seeds. It also includes fruits and vegetables anything else that is produced by plants like nuts and dry fruits. People on a vegan diet try to include all sorts of dietary supplements and include the maximum amount of protein and nutrients in their diets in order to stay healthy. That being said this diet may not be the best diet out there. Before you drop your regular diet and switch to veganism here are some pros and cons of veganism that you should weigh.
PROS

1. This diet includes a lot of antioxidant-rich food which help prevent chronic illness. It reduces the risk of problems like blood pressure and diabetes.
2. It’s free of cholesterol and contains very less saturated fats. This reduces the risk of bigger problems and keeps your heart and body healthy.

3. This diet also promotes peace and saves animal lives.
4. It also helps protect the environment and reduces your carbon footprint.

5. It helps you control your diet and your food cravings. It makes you aware of the food that you consume every day.
6. A vegan diet also helps you lose more weight by reducing your calorie intake and increasing your protein intake.

CONS

1. Cutting out the animal produce from your diet may lead to deficiencies in your body. Your body needs calcium and omega 3 and other such vitamins and minerals which it gets from the meat and dairy products. A lack of these may result in nutrition deficiency.
2. With a vegan diet, you need to rely on other sources for getting adequate nutrients. These alternatives may strain your digestive system and cause discomfort and make your digestive system weak.

3. In order to save the animals and be more environment-friendly, you may end up being weak and will make unhealthy choices for your body.
4. You may not be able to eat out at all because even though we do have purely vegetarian food available in restaurants, they don’t really cook it vegan style and this may not go down well with your diet.

5. Lack of proteins and minerals may elevate your existing medical conditions or may lead to bigger health problems.
6. You may end up cutting too many calories from your diet and a lack of a healthy amount of calories may lead to weight gain.
