Tired of frizzy hair? Here are 5 tips to have a frizz-free summer
Summer is the season of frizzy hair. It is hot and humid. All of us know how annoying it is to deal with frizzy hair.
While some people escape this frizzy hair problem, the question is how? There are some strategies to avoid frizz this summer. All of us want smooth and silky hair throughout the year, don’t we? Why should summer spoil our good hair days? No matter how straight or thin your hair is, the summer frizz affects all of us.
What causes frizzy hair?
Our hair is composed of several layers, and the outermost layer called the cuticle layer is constructed like scales of a fish. When this outer layer falls flat, it is difficult for anything to pass through to the inner layers. On the other hand, when the cuticle layer is raised, it allows moisture from the humid surrounding to pass through to the inner layers and swell hair strands. These puffed up hair strands are known are frizzy hair.
Thick and curly hair types are more prone to frizz since their hair types are typically dryer and acts like a magnet for moisture.

How to prevent frizz this summer?
Moisturize your Hair
Absence of moisture is what causes your hair to absorb moisture from the outside environment. Moisturizing your hair not only means to add moisture to your daily products but also keep yourself hydrated. Your hair also needs nutrients to stay healthy, making it less frizzy. Therefore, eat right and healthy. Apply oils to your hair frequently.
Cleansing Conditioners
Switch to cleansing conditioners as they are the best way to fight frizz. These conditioners do not strip the hair’s natural oils which are essential to fight frizz. They can replace shampoos or can be used as an alternate hair cleanser between regular shampoos.

Frizz-Free
Apply Sunscreen to your strands
This may sound weird but hair SPF is real. It protects your hair from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Before the sun’s rays penetrate the hair, the sunscreen breaks it down.
Develop a Healthy Hair Care Routine
Identify your hair type and know what products are the best for you. Stick to a hair care routine. This will not only keep your hair healthy in summers but throughout the year. Know how many times to wash your hair in a week. Deep condition your hair at least once a week. Make sure to wash your hair with cold water so that moisture retained is locked.

Styling and Protection
On days when you can’t handle the frizz, put your hair in a well-groomed bun. Try doing braids. Also, when you use heating products to style your hair, make sure to use heat protectant to minimize heat damage. You serums after a hair wash.
