Navratri 2019: THESE tips can help you to stay safe when you go out to play Garba
It is very crucial to take some steps and ensure your own safety. Precaution is better than cure, as they say. Don't forget your personal safety in the chaos of the fun festival.
The nine-day long festival full of fun and dancing has started and all of us are in the festive mood. We're all excited for the fun Garba night and want to dance our hearts out. This is the time when we wear all our amazing clothes and jewellery and go shopping. We Indians love to celebrate a good festival and we go all out when we do so. But we often forget the importance of safety because we're too engrossed in celebrating our festivals. Most of us spend our evenings doing the puja and then we spend the rest of our nights doing Garba till late. In the middle of this chaos, we forget to stay safe and that's when things go wrong.
Here are some tips to stay safe while you celebrate Navratri.
1. Don't forget to carry your phone. Most of you want to dance and cannot take care of your belongings, so you prefer going to the event without your phone or you leave it in the car. But in case of any emergency, you may need your phone. So, keep it handy.

2. Do a little warm-up before you get in the groove. Don't simply jump into your high energy moves. Your body needs a little warm-up in order to build some endurance. Not doing so may make you more prone to muscle injuries.

3. If you feel that you have strained your feet or knees or any other body part. Take a break and let your muscles relax. Give your body some time to relax before you dance again.

4. Drink lots of water. While you dance, you will sweat and lose a lot of water content. Keep yourself hydrated because it won't be nice if you get dehydrated and faint.

5. Don't pick a place where there is low lighting. A low lit area might have blind spots and could be dangerous for you.

6. Be careful with your food and drinks. Don't take anything offered to you by a stranger or anyone who you don't trust. Don't leave your food or drink unattended and if at all you do, don't consume those drinks or that food again.

7. If you're going to play Garba with your friends, keep your family informed of your whereabouts and keep updating them.

8. Avoid wearing real jewellery. You do not want to risk getting robbed. You may be putting your life at risk by wearing heavy real jewellery.

9. Don't use public transport. Book a cab through an app instead. By doing so, you can give your family or loved ones the link to track you till your destination and these apps also have an emergency button in case if you need it.

10. Be very careful with where you park your vehicle. Don't park in a secluded spot. Park your vehicle in a well-lit area with other vehicles. Also, ensure that your vehicle doesn't get in the way and is parked in a protected area. You don't want someone breaking into your car and stealing it.
