The man behind Big Bang Theory, Georges Lemaitre gets honored by Google Doodle; find out
Lemaitre is believed to be the first to have come up with the theory that the universe is expanding, google doodle celebrates him!
Google Doodle today Honours Georges Lemaitre, a Belgian astronomer and professor of Physics who is known to have proposed some groundbreaking theories pertaining to the Universe.

He was the first to theorize that the Universe is ever-expanding which was confirmed by Edwin Hubble and is now known as Hubble’s Law.
Lemaitre is also credited to have research which focused on the concept of the universe starting from a single atom, later known as the Big Bang Theory
In 1927, the Belgian scientist first delivered his lecture and theory to which Albert Einstein was quoted saying:
'This is the most beautiful and satisfactory explanation of creation to which I ever listened'

Georges Lemaitre also served in the Belgian army during the First World War after which he studied Physics and Mathematics and was ordained as a Priest!
He died in 1966, shortly discovering the existence of cosmic microwave background radiation, which further attested his theory on the birth of the universe.
