We always tend to define a person based on their Zodiac signs, however, these signs are grouped into four essential elements to which life would not be possible without. Earth, Air, Water and Fire are the four elements under which the 12 zodiac signs have been clubbed. The symbolism is so exact that the element that your astrology sign lies under greatly influences your personality traits and your characteristics. While defining your personality, these elements also determine your compatibility with other signs and their element. To put it in simpler terms here is an example -  fire and air signs are compatible together (think oxygen plus flame), while water and earth signs are compatible together (think of rain and plants). Now, without giving it all away, here are the elements and their Zodiac signs explained:

Fire Signs - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Just like fire, they are bright, warm, and enticing. But just like fire does good like cooking food and bringing light, it can also burn a house down (we hope you are getting the metaphor here!). Fire signs must be managed and under control in order to be of benefit. While being dynamic and emotional, they are pretty self-centred and like fire, they have no regard over anything in its path. But, when we think of fire we also think about a good camp with chill vibes and warmth!

Water Signs - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Being the most intuitive (some also say they are psychic), water signs are great at speaking and reading between the lines. They understand you before you can know about your feelings. Water signs also represent the intuition and emotional aspects because it flows and it's liquid or it could be solid like ice, it can evaporate into the air and turn into clouds. They are the most emotional signs of them all and can flow into depths we have never been figured. So, just like water, these signs love deeper than anyone else and would do anything to help out people in need.

Earth Signs - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Earth signs are most ‘grounded’ of them all (you see what we did there?). Suitably so, earth signs are very "down to earth" and real. The earth is the basic element on which everything is built and honestly shaking them would be knowing that it will disrupt everything in sight.  Earth people are not fond of change, they like stability and regular life that can grow upon and develop. Earth signs are however too logical and rigid to protect themselves from people who constantly walk over them. Earth signs are great people to have around because they care about quality in everything they do and will never move away from your side.

Air Signs - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Air signs being true to their element are the hardest people to pin down. They are constantly in their element and hardly care about what is happening to the rest of the world. While they are calm and breezy, it is important to know that a storm can always be on its way with Air signs.  They make great writers, artists, communicators, charmers — you name it. Air is the most necessary element, being necessary to fire, earth and water and hence, they can formulate theories, solve problems clearly and see the world below.
