We are all so focused on the number on the weighing scale that we have forgotten everything else. We stop noticing the bigger problems coming our way. Everybody wants to lose weight and decrease the number on the scale without understand if they really need it or not. A lot of people put their bodies in harm's way just to lose a few more inches or reduce a few more kilos. But do you ever ask yourself why you need to shed those kilos? Do you ever ask yourself if your body needs to lose those kilos? It’s important to lose weight for the right reasons and you need to stop pushing yourself if your reasons are not legit. Here are some reasons why you don’t need to lose weight if you have a healthy body.

1. You have an ideal weight as per the doctor and health standards. If your BMI is normal and your weight is normal you do not need weight loss. You do need some regular exercise but not weight loss.

2. If you are trying to lose weight to get into shape it may be the wrong reason to lose weight. Women come in all sizes and shapes and all that matters is that you are healthy. Don’t body shame yourself into weight loss.

3. Dieting seems enticing but it’s really not necessary. Dieting might be unhealthy for your body considering that you’re already fit.

4. Weight loss goals can be a great cause for concern. You may have unrealistic goals and you want to achieve them but remember that, it doesn’t end there. Achieving your goal will never be enough and you will want more.

5. It may lead to a decline in your mental health. Constantly pushing yourself to diet or workout may not be good for your mental health. When you are healthy you don’t have a good enough motivation for extreme workouts. In such a situation you may body shame yourself and push your mind in the wrong direction. It may also lead to an eating disorder.
