Breakfast, the word itself is quite self-explanatory as after a long period of fasting which is around 10-16 hours in the night we need a good and healthy meal after we wake up to energize and charge up our body. And that's why it is also known as the most important meal of the day. But unfortunately, the main of us fail to eat breakfast due to some reason or the other.

1. Increases the risk of Type-2 Diabetes

As per a study which was conducted in Harvard University School of Public Health, showed how women who avoided breakfast daily were at a higher risk of developing Type-2 diabetes than those who had breakfast. Jenna Freeman Scudder, RD, a dietitian at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center said, “Some small studies suggest that skipping the morning meal can actually lead to more insulin resistance."

"Insulin resistance is a condition that requires more insulin to bring blood sugar into the normal range. And when it’s chronic, there’s a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes.”

2. Weight gain instead of weight loss

Many weight watchers try and avoid breakfast to create a calorie deficit but for some, this can work as the opposite of it. As limiting food, can later lead to overeating. It also leads to a craving for fatty and sugary foods. It also slowers metabolism which in turn will create a hurdle in weight loss. 

3. Increases the chances of a heart attack.

As per study which was published in JAMA, men who skip breakfast have about 27% more chances of getting a heart attack in comparisons to those who eat breakfast daily. So, one should indulge in a healthy breakfast as the same can curb the risk of heart attacks. 

4. Low energy levels

If you are not having breakfast then you must be feeling very low on energy levels as after overnight fasting your body has no fuel to run organs in your body and that's why you may feel lethargic throughout the day.

5. Poor memory

As per several studies, eating breakfast can help to improve the cognitive function which is related to memory. So if you want sharper memory then I would advise eating a healthy and hearty breakfast every day.

6. Can cause Migraines

No breakfast can create an imbalance in the blood sugar level and the same can trigger migraines and headaches.

7. Can lead to hair loss

Proteins and other nutrients are part of the healthy breakfast and when our body is devoid of proteins then a type of protein Keratin which is responsible for the growth of nails and hair will reduce in the body which in turn can create problems such as hair loss among others.
