With the scorching sun out in the open, skin rashes and inflammation are quite common. Sun protection is an essential part of skin care during summers. Applying a sunscreen lotion with an SPF suitable to your skin is the most effective way. But the cream or body lotion needs to be reapplied on the face and body parts at regular intervals.

Instead of using cosmetic products and creams, there are several simple home remedies that can work magic in refreshing your skin and helping keep it clean and clear. Natural ingredients at home are also a great remedy in soothing the pain, irritation and infection.

Baking Soda

Mix a tablespoon of baking soda in your bathing water and soak for 20 minutes. You can also add powdered oats and milk. The ingredients can help reduce the inflammation. 

Aloe Vera

Use an aloe vera gel or apply the extracted gel from aloe vera leaves on the affected areas. It is a natural cooling agent that helps soothe sunburnt skin.

Green Tea

Soak green tea leaves in water and use a cotton dab to apply it to the affected parts. Allow it to cool in the refrigerator before applying it. 

Essential Oils

Use some lavender or chamomile oil. Pour it in the water you're going to bath in and soak yourself to relieve the sore parts.

White Vinegar

Soak wet towels in vinegar solution and apply it to the affected areas. Make sure you dilute it with water as vinegar can sting. Other than that, you can also mix vinegar powder in the bucket of water you're taking a bath with. 

Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water in  a day. Remember hydrated to keep your body cool even when you have to stay out in the sun for prolonged periods of time.
