Born on the 19th of May in 1934, the 83-year-old author has shared with us many a memorable tales of his own childhood and early days spent in Mussoorie. What was special about his style of writing, was the detailed descriptions he would pen down, creating a vivid image in the minds of the reader. 

When asked by a leading daily about writing for a living and as a passion, Bond said, "There's a rigour, a discipline to writing as a craft. You must write regularly every morning and your conscience will be clear. I got into this habit as I had to make a living from my writing. I had other jobs but they never lasted long.  Write about anything that comes to mind. I started recording thoughts, dreams...if nothing exciting is happening you can write about a dream, most of my romantic stories were dreams."
