Motherhood is not as easy as it sounds. Keeping the child safe, and secure in your womb for 9 months, is just the beginning of the magical journey. A mother has to sacrifice a lot, since things change in her life and her baby becomes the centre of her world. Be it travelling or sitting in meetings for wee hours, everything changes once a woman embraces motherhood.

With so much changing, some things never change. With time, women have learnt to manage baby and career together. Thanks to the concept of maternal leaves and work from home, women can now equally focus on their career and baby. And if you've just had a baby and are juggling between your work and baby, then don't worry we have some tips for you.

Read below to find out some tips that can help you manage work-life and baby together.

Invest in a planner:

A planner can really help you figure out somethings in life. From making daily lists of meetings to putting your kids' schedules, to planning meals for the week, everything can be done with a planner. It not only helps you stay organised but gives you an idea of when you'll need to enlist some help.

Speak to your boss at work:

You have to have an open dialogue at work. You have to speak to your boss and make it clear that you can't miss out on the school functions, doctor appointments and other baby related things. Making it clear that your family is a priority from the start can help open up conversations down the road.

Call your kids:

When you are away from your kids, always make sure to give them a call at least a couple of times in the day. Not only will it brighten their day, but it will also make you feel more connected to the kids.

Focus on the positive aspects in life:

Even after working in office for multiple hours, you'll still end up feeling guilt about the work that you've missed. But you should focus on the fact that you have a beautiful child at home who recognises you as a mother and loves you as such.

Have a backup:

If you are a single mom or if your husband has gone out of town for a couple of days, then having a backup is always a good option. Find at least 3 different people (friends, family, neighbours, etc.) that are willing to be a backup in times of emergencies. These people can help you out when you can get yourself out of work situations or parenting situations.

Children are your best friends:

If you are feeling down and things are not going as planned, always remember that your children will put you in a more uplifting mood. Play with them, listen to what they have to say, sleep with them and that bonding will make everything better.
