Loving someone and having them love you back is not the only thing that makes a relationship. There’s more to a relationship than just love. A relationship needs work. Most of us forget that when we finally find someone and end up in a relationship with them. Because we have it all we stop working on it. We stop trying to make things work and keep our relationship happy and healthy. You cannot let your relationship remain stagnant you need to go somewhere. You need to grow and learn with the person you love and together you need to build a happy and healthy relationship and life together. But what is the right way to keep your relationship strong and toxin-free? Here are some things you can do to ensure that you maintain a healthy relationship.

1. Communicate with your partner no matter what. Over time we forget the importance of talking to each other. We resort to silent treatment and screaming matches. It’s essential to communicate with your partner and learn how to resolve conflict.

2. It’s important to respect your partner. No relationship can survive without mutual respect. Over time that respect fades away, it’s essential that we don’t let that respect fade away like that.

3. Once we have it all we spend a lot of time together but it’s not always quality time. We need to stop existing with each other. Spending quality time is important. Spend this time making each other feel special and valued. Gift each other your time and attention.

4. Spend some time apart and away from each other. It will help you value each other and the time you get to spend with each other. It teaches you to appreciate each other.

5. Understand that your fights are not more important than your relationship. It’s not you v/s your partner, it’s you two v/s your problems. Remember that you’re both on the same side.

6. Don’t just be a couple or lovers, become friends. Remember to remain friends.

7. Support each other in every possible way. Be there for each other and prioritize your relationship.

8. Set couple goals and work on achieving them together.
