Suffering from neck pain? THESE habits could be the reason
Our habits can impact the problems we face. If you’re dealing with frequent neck pains maybe it’s time to look at your habits that could be the cause.
We live a busy life and our work involves a lot of sitting on our desks in front of our laptops. It’s not unusual to end up with a neck strain or neck pain in such case. We also have days when we have a stiff neck and getting through the day becomes difficult. We just have to push ourselves to pop a painkiller and stretch and crack our neck a little and just keep going. But if neck pains have become much more common than usual then there might be something wrong. It’s not very common to have frequent neck pains and stiffness and if that is happening it could probably be hinting that your habits are the cause. It could also turn out to be a much bigger problem but before you rush to the doctor you need to ensure that it’s not your habits.
Here are some bad habits that can cause severe and very frequent neck pain:
Posture

We spend most of our time at our workplace sitting on a desk which is why our posture makes a huge difference. If you’re sitting the whole day in a bad posture it could lead to a severe back and neck pain. Not sitting right can impact your spine and fail to support our body and its weight.
Exercise

You love working out and it’s a great thing to try and stay healthy and fit but if you’re not doing your exercises right you could end up straining your body including your neck. The wrong exercise technique can strain your neck and cause neck pain.
Sleeping position

You could be getting a backache because of the position you sleep in. Sleeping on your stomach or sleeping with your neck elevated too high or sleeping in any position where your neck is not aligned with your spine may lead to severe neck pain.
Mattress or Pillow

If you have a very soft mattress or soft pillow, they could be a real problem. Sleeping on a soft mattress is okay but if your mattress is so soft that you just melt into it, it may not be a good choice for your neck and your back. Too many soft pillows can also spoil the alignment of your body while you sleep.
Phone

How you text makes a huge difference because these days we spend a tad bit too much time on our phones. IF you’re bending your neck in order to look down into your phone and that’s how you spend most of your day, then that’s the leading cause of your neck pain.
