Back pain affects a huge percentage of people today. When you feel that pain creeping in, you know that there’s no way out. Backache hampers your daily life and makes it difficult to get through the day. It hampers your lifestyle as well. You fail to get through your daily routine and it becomes nearly impossible to live a normal life when you have severe back pain. Painkiller cannot be a long-term solution because of the side effects they have. Back pain can have a major impact on your life and health. It becomes impossible to get out of bed every day with a backache and bend and do anything at all for that matter. This is why it’s important to find out the cause of your backache and fix it before it’s too late. Constant lower back pain is not good for your spine and it could also hint at something bigger but most of the times a backache is due to some common bad habits that we fail to notice. Here are some habits that could be the root of this pain.

1. Footwear

The kind of footwear you wear has a major impact on your spine and your back. Wearing heels to work every day might be a great fashion statement but it isn’t good for your back or your feet for that matter. If you’re flats or shoes provide no cushion or support to your feet they aren’t any good either.

2. Smoking

Researches have linked smoking with back pain. Smoking causes dehydration and also impacts bone density. It also affects the disc and weakens it due to the dehydration and reduces the nutrient absorption ability of the disc and causes it to degenerate.

3. Traveling

If you are traveling too much this could be the cause of your back pain. If you travel via road then you’re suffering from back pain because of the constant movement of the vehicle and if you travel by train or bus it is the same. You sit in a position while the vehicle moves and causes you to jerk your back and spine and straining it.'

4. Workout

If you are skipping out on your workout completely or if you’re doing it wrong, it could be causing you severe back pain. The wrong exercise technique can lead to backache. Not stretching your muscles can also cause a strain on the muscles in the back and cause back pain.

5. Handbag

We, women, tend to carry a tad bit too much in our handbags and if you carry too much weight on your arm or your shoulder or in your backpack, it could strain your shoulder and your lower back. This could be the cause of your pain.

6. Posture

Poor posture is one of the biggest reason behind a back problem. Fix your posture and how you sit or stand or even the way you text or look into your phone or even your laptop. Keep your back straight and maintain a good posture.
