Cancer can be scary and harsh. It takes a toll on people and their health as well as their families. It also impacts your finances. Cancer is one illness that we are all very scared of. No one wants to battle cancer, in fact, most of us do our best to run away from it. Though there is no way to prevent cancer 100% there is nothing wring in avoiding things that put you at a higher risk. Even if you like some thrill and adventure in life, it’s better to avoid things that put you and your health at risk than be reckless with it. We don’t want it and pray every day to stay safe and healthy but we all have that one odd bad habit that we can’t avoid or get rid of, for that matter and that one bad habit could lead us to a bad battle with cancer. Here are some basic lifestyle changes that we all need to make in order to prevent cancer.

1. Smoking causes cancer and we all know it yet many of us smoke. Even after knowing the risks we still smoke and fail to quit this bad habit. It can cause lung cancer or mouth or even throat cancer. Don’t ever even try smoking if you’re a non-smoker and if you are one, quitting would be a great start.

2. Skin cancer is another very common cancer caused by exposure to the ultraviolet rays. Stay protected from the sun and use sunscreen. Avoid exposure when you can by covering up as much as possible.

3. It’s important to do some physical activity every now and then. Not for fitness but for the sake of physical activity. Get your muscles moving. Do something light like going for a walk or a swim or even something as little as gardening can help.

4. Watch your diet. Too much junk food can increase the level of toxins in your body. Try eating as healthy as possible. Include vitamin and protein-rich food in your diet.

5. Avoid consuming too much red meat and processed meat. Processed meat and red meat increase the risk of cancer. Consume them in moderation.
