Now that Instagram and Snapchat have become a smartphone staple and selfie is an official word in the dictionary! One must ensure you always capture the best version of yourself. A few people who nail the selfie game for sure are our Bollywood celebrities. From #IwokeUpLikeThis to #SqaudGoals they nail it all. Here are hacks on how you too can take the perfect selfie:

1. Find your light - Backlit

Backlit look- If you turn back on the light if will give you a more backlit look. Which will make your photo look softer and give it a mystic.

2. Find your light - Turn towards the main light source

If you want a brighter image, turn towards the light. face an open window or any well light place. Sunlight is always the best light.

3. Angle

When taking a selfie it is all about the angles, hold your camera and extend your arm out. The further the camera is away from the slimmer you will look. It is known as the fishbowl effect.
Never take a selfie from a low angle it is flattering for no one.

4. Angle-horizontal picture

Extend your arm out but hold the camera horizontally, some people look better in the landscape composition.

5. Angle- vertical pictures

For a portrait composition, hold your camera vertically, again extend your arm and take that picture.

6. Pose- hold your neck out

Hold your neck out when taking a selfie, try not to scrunch it in as it gives a double chin effect. It is all about the posture an elongated neck makes you look so-so much better!

7. Pose- try different angle

You will not find your best angle unless you have seen yourself in all angels. When you have free time try and experiment with a different angle, so when the time is right you never get a selfie wrong.

8. Pose- the universal good selfie angle

Hold your camera up above eye level. turn your face at a 3 quarter angle and this my friend is a universal good selfie angle. Taking a shot with your face in the centre will make your features look the same as they are in real life. Hence, your passport and drivers picture is always a front facing shots.

9. Pose- the baby face angel

Let's say you want to look cuter. For dolly, cutesy and innocent shots try his angel- hold the camera up high, bring the camera closer to you, this will make your eyes appear childlike and bigger. This can, however, make you look alien-ish so try to do it right.

10. Finding the right filter

Turns out, filters that increase the warmth, exposure and contrast of your snaps are most likely to lead to more likes.

That means filters like Mayfair, Valencia, Hefe, Nashville and Aden will flatter your selfies, whereas Hudson and Clarendon are best avoided if you’re after Insta-fame.

11. For a group shot

For a group shot with friends never be the one taking the picture. Take a few steps back, this will make you look narrow and longer.

12. Throw sunglasses on

If your makeup is not that great today or you are just having a bad day! Throw sunglasses on and take a picture. No one has ever looked bad with sunglasses on, in a selfie.
