There is a Krishna hidden in everyone. And, the spirit of the blue-hued deity works its magic best in childhood – when the little ones turns into petty food thieves! Here, a few TV actors make some candid confessions.

Gaurav sharma

I used to love eating pakodas in my childhood. And my mom cooks amazing ‘kadi pakoda’. One day she was preparing ‘kadhi rice’ and she was frying ‘pakodas’ separately for the kadhi. I was only 9-10 years old and I was short so I crawled down to the thali in which she was keeping the pakodas. She didn’t notice me and I was trying to pick the pakodas from the thali. But I didn’t realize that they were extremely hot and as soon as I picked one, I screamed! She caught me but didn’t say anything. She applied some toothpaste on my fingers and gave me some pakodas to eat but warned me not to repeat this again.

I love any kind of paneer dish made by mom. After completing my lunch/dinner, I used to steal the remaining food after my mother went to sleep. She would, without any doubt, assume that I stole the left over paneer from the refrigerator but she would never ask me why I did so; such is a mother’s love. I also used to steal all chocolates and cakes from the refrigerator that she used to bring for me and for my younger brother.

No childhood memories as I was always in boarding school and childhood memories are of my mother running behind me to feed me healthy food because I would eat a lot of junk food and I would just not eat healthy food or home cooked food.
So once there was an incident where the entire family took turns saying that today I shall feed him etc. and there was a bet between everybody as to who would manage to make me eat my food and in the end nobody managed to win. So yes was a stubborn child who didn't eat very healthy food. My mother running behind me to make me eat healthy food reminds me of Krishna.

I used to steal sweets from the kitchen. My mom use to make sweets at home and use to give us equally. But I have sweet tooth. So I use to steal them. Once I got caught but my mom but she didn't say anything to me and made some more to avoid fight among my siblings.

I used to love butter as a child, I still do. But my mother used to hide the butter high up in the kitchen so I couldn't reach it. But my love for butter wouldn't keep me away. This always reminds me of Krishna and her mother. Even I used to climb up anyhow and get it and eat it standing there only with all the butter all over my face. My mom used to get so mad at me and didn’t know where to hide it.
Now I have stopped eating that much butter as too much is not good for our health.

Janvi Vora

I still remember the days when I used to go with my family to watch dahihandi. I was always excited to watch people forming the pyramid and trying to break the handis. After so many attempts they use to succeed in breaking the handis. In those failed attempts when they use to fall I was a bit funny for me when I was young but then as I grew I got to know how tough it is to form the pyramid. Memories of stealing butter from kitchen and eating it reminds me of Krishna and his cute stories.

Gulfam Khan

Though being from a Muslim family I grew up in a very cosmopolitan society. It was a pleasure celebrating every festival. Janmashtami was a time when we kids practised for different heights of dahi handi and we girls had a separate group. As a child I always stole sweets from a little pot my mom stowed away and my brother was my partner in crime.

Ankit Gera

I was very notorious and stubborn kid in my childhood. I used to steal food from kitchen and eat it up.

Jaswir Kaur

Oh yes. I use to eat up the malai from the milk quietly without Mom knowing as I felt I was intelligent (laughs), but Mom knows everything. I got to know after growing up.

Ravish Desai

I still remember my mother and grandmother use to prepare kachoris. So in the morning I just used to wait for mom and grandmother to sneak out from the kitchen and then I used to steal some kachoris and run from my home and sit with my friends and together use to have those kachoris. My mother use to even scold me for doing this because it was made for a certain purpose so that is something in which I relate to Krishna.

Himanshu Soni

Janamashthami was the only festival which I used to enjoy from home. Earlier during childhood I remember I use to watch dahi-handi from my home, sometimes with the delicious food my mom use to prepare on that day. I use to take maximum benefit of this day as we used to get a holiday.
