It's that time of the year again where almost every night is party night. This also means that by the end of the month, you will be broke. Purchasing a new dress for that New Year's Eve bash seems too farfetched at this moment. So, why not recycle? It's not as "tacky" as it sounds, we promise! Here are a few tips that will help you re-use that old party dress that you love, but don't wear anymore because you have worn it too many times already.

Layer it up

Time to incorporate athleisure's new rules into party wear. Take your favourite sparkly gown and add a long embellished cloak to it to, Chanel style. Sonam Kapoor makes us take note on how to ace the look by covering up with a black cloak, which will come in handy because it's going to be a cool night.

Snip it off

We know you don't need an excuse to show off those toned legs. Pick out an old party gown that you don't wear anymore and add a tad bit of sexiness to it by making a thigh-high slit. Pair it with you stilettoes, matching accessories, and you are good to go!

Add a trail or cape

Priyanka, Deepika and Katrina did it. One at the MET and the other at her own reception and the third at an awards show! So who's to say that you can't incorporate this look for that glamorous New Years bash? Pick out that dress and get a matching embellished trail or cape, for it, and you are party ready!

Ruffles for years

That drab, plain old dress sitting in your wardrobe waiting to be thrown out? Don't do it just yet! Instead, pick up some tulle material and create a ruffle pattern and stitch it onto the dress for a totally glamorous party look.

Statement piece

A little black dress is the safest bet when it comes to parties. But have too many of them and it will all end up looking the same! For a different look, add a statement piece to your outfit, the way Manushree does. The sparkly blue blazer gives her LBD a whole new look and makes her look party-ready! If not for a blazer you can opt for some flared pants in a contrasting colour, for a more formal party look.

Accessorise like there's no tomorrow

Bring back the 60s by accessorising as much as you can. Take everything out from your jewellery box - vintage, brand new and everything in between and wear them all together. Look like the perfect 60s queen by wearing all the rings, earrings and chains you own and with all eyes on them, your not-so brand new dress will not even be noticed!
