Have you ever made the terrible mistake of cutting your hair too short and immediately regretted it? Or want to have mermaid-length hair immediately? Well, obviously hair doesn’t grow overnight, but there are some easy ways to speed up the process. So, sit back and give those hair follicles the kick they need.

Give your hair the rest it deserves

Take a break from the heat, tugging pulling and styling and just let your hair be. Once every week let your hair air dry. Don’t tie it up too tight in a scrunchie. For a change, let your hair free and let it breathe.

Make conditioner your best friend

Whether you use shampoo or not, if your hair is wet you have to condition it. The bottom strands are usually thin and extremely dry. Conditioning your hair from the middle to the tips leaves it hydrated and nourished.

Cold water rinse

Once you have shampooed and conditioned your hair, just before stepping out of the shower rinse your hair with cold water one last time. The cold water helps in closing the cuticles on the scalp which eventually retains the moisture and makes a huge difference.

Ditch cotton pillowcases

When you lie on cotton pillowcases, it causes friction, which eventually breaks hair. To retain the hair, try sleeping on silk pillowcases as they are softer and cause lesser friction.

Vinegar rinse

A tried and tested remedy this is. After the last rinse with cold water, rinse your hair with some apple cider vinegar. This additionally helps in retaining the moisture in hair and keeps it soft and glossy.

Chop it off

Ensure you regularly trim your hair to keep split ends and dry ends at bay. This obviously doesn't make your hair grow faster but keeps the split ends to a minimum. Ensure you do this regularly so that you don’t need to chop more of your hair once the split ends spread later.

Add supplements to your diet

Your body needs vital nutrients and vitamins that may be lacking from your diet. While you may not be able to entirely change your diet, you can add these necessary vitamins and minerals in your system by consuming them in the form of supplements. They aid in hair growth and protect your hair from damage.
