7 ways in which retail brands are cheating you
Are sale items really on discount? Read on to find out
Clothing stores often use tricks to make us spend more, do you want to know what manufacturers and retailers hide from you? Well, read on:
1. Fashion trends change every week:
Gone are the days when the only seasons were spring/summer and fall/winter, fast fashion has taken up on micro trends. New items appear every week, making you spend more.
2. Large brand collaboration
Heard of collaborations like H&M x BALMAIN? Large retails often collaborate with big designers, but that means you will get the same quality. The only thing unique about them is a higher price and they are often limited edition.
3. The sale section havoc
Have you ever visited a store during the sale and have had to rummage through a heap of clothes? Well, the sale section is disorderly on purpose, to make you feel happy that you found a nice bargain in that mess and run to buy it immediately.
4. Hazardous to health
Harmful chemicals are used in clothes manufacturing, even if an item is labelled 100% natural, it is not always true. Clothes manufacturing often involves harmful chemicals that cannot be identified without proper lab testing. Hence, always wash new clothes before wearing them, not only does it keep you safe from dangerous chemicals and also prevents from any infection that the previous customer who tried it might have had.
5. Synthetic v/s natural fabric
Manufacturers often overprice synthetic clothes to give customers an incentive to buy more expensive items made from natural materials.
6. Poor quality goods
Our parents have left us things that we can still wear, today's clothes, however, are often of poor quality- all bad stitches, poorly printed images, cheap plastic fittings, and so on....
The manufacturers make things quick and cheap so we repurchase them often.
7. Sales benefit the retailer not you
Not many can resist the temptation of seeing a discount but they often make you buy things you never even needed. Sometimes stores even artificially raise prices to announce the sale later and attract customers.
Well, I feel cheated! What about you? Comment below and let us know.
