10 incredible tips and tricks to look slimmer in a dress
Summer is here and it is time to pull those cute dresses out. Here is a little something to help you look slimmer in dresses!
While summers are here, it is time to pull our dresses out. While our summer bikini body might not be there yet, it should not stop us from wearing those cute dresses and frocks. Here are some sneaky tips to help you look slimmer in dresses!
1. Contrast right at the waist
Wrap your waist in a brightly coloured belt or sash to create a slash right at it. Try coordinating the colour of the belt with an accessory.

2. Wear skinny heels with pointed toes
Wearing pointy toe heels will create the illusion of long, slimmer and slender legs.

3. Show some skin on top!
If your lower body is your problem area then expose bit up top, an off shoulder or v-neck should do the trick!

4. Embrace shapewear
The Kardashians do it and so should you, get pieces that smooth bulges while lifting breasts and the behind. Shapers with extra firm tummy control work well worn under shift dresses and pencil skirts.

5. Stick to one monotone colour
Try not to go too colour and wear one colour head to toe. Stark contrasts between your upper and lower body draw eyes to your middle.

6. Pick nude shades of heels
Try neutral skin-hued versions with bare legs to give them an elongated effect.

7. Wear your hair in an updo!
Pull tresses into a ponytail high on the back of your head and then lightly tease at the crown to bring out your bone structure and make your face look thinner.

8. Stick to dark colours
Dark colours are known to hide problem areas and make your body look even more flattering. Pick deeper colours like emeralds, blacks and navy blues. Black especially is a universally flattering colour.

9. Pick smaller prints
Prints can play a major role. Avoid dresses with bold and bigger prints as they might look overwhelming on you. They give an illusion of largeness, making you look bigger than you really are! So it’s advisable to stick to small and subtle prints!

10. Layer
Pick a denim jacket or shrug and layer it over the dress it cuts you off from the centre creating a slimmer illusion.
Lastly, you must always use a fitted, structured silhouette to flatter your body type!
