Paris’s Haute Couture is stuff that dreams are made of. Gorgeous models strutting back and forth in frocks that can cost more than many cars can feel frivolous, but oh! We love it. Paris’ haute couture week certainly is the fashion world's most elusive and exciting events.

Here we look at the highlights and takeaways from this fashion wonderland.

Chanel

This season Chanel gave their trademark tweed a classic yet modernistic twist. Channeling “crazy feminity” and the art deco designs of the ’30s, Chanel took the tweed and translated the silhouette into classic gowns and dresses. Sequin was also a very big part of the collection. Girls in the collection looked like walking drawings, impeccable and clean.

Feathers though very contradictory to the classic and clean Chanel designs, was a great touch!

Dior

Haute couture has the ability to transport viewers to a fantasy world and Dior's collection took us to a garden. Maria Grazia Chiuri's first haute couture collection for Dior brims with amazing details such as the hats and masks that lend it an air of gothic theme with a punk edge. Motivated by the fairies in a Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dior featured plenty of mythical motifs rendered in lavish embroideries and appliqué.

Valentino

Oozing every bit of Valentino essence, Pierpaolo Piccioli took a more simplistic approach. Chiffon fabrics, embroidery, and rhinestones were the highlight of the show. Valentino haute couture Fall 2016 collection was Elizabethan themed, hence ruffles were a huge part of the collection.

Giambattista Valli

Chiffon cascading gowns? Yes, please! elaborate ruffles, embroidery, and embellishments sum up Giambattista Valli's collection. Thier collection featured reconstructed vintage party dresses.

Elie Saab

Elie Saab's collection was called "the light of now". It was a tribute to women's beauty and inner strength in a dazzling array of creations inspired by the golden era of Egypt.
Hollywood glamor at its best – the decadent beadings and jewel-toned satin trims will definitely turn heads at the most exclusive red carpet events.

Ralph & Russo

The couturier taps younger clientele with pastel satin dresses featuring exquisite beadings and embroideries.

For Spring 2017, the verdict is- recycled vintage dresses, vibrant collection of ruffles and ’80s graphics. The looks were extravagant, elaborate, and extremely haute at the couture show in Paris.
