With athleisure taking over every aspect of fashion, it comes as no surprise that comfortable shoes like keds, sneakers and loafers are the go-to option for almost every occasion. Celebrities have created a trend of wearing sneakers everywhere from red carpet events to weddings (becoming more popular than even juttis and kohlapuris)! Taking cue from the trend, is Garima Arya, a Delhiite who founded Poshampa and caters to all the sneaker-heads out there!

The artist reveals that the brand was started mainly because Garima realised that people do love art, but not everybody can afford a painting worth Rs. 50 thousand. "I made hand painted shoes during college days and I took that forward," says the founder who named her brand after the popular kids game. "The collection is extremely quirky, colourful and fun just like the game, hence it made sense," she said about starting the brand back in 2017.

The process to create these quirky shoes though, isn't as easy as it looks! "I get my own shoes manufactured and paint on them. Completing one pair of shoes takes anywhere from 2 - 8 hours," says the artist who first creates the design her client wants, gets it approved from them and then begins the process of putting the art down on canvas with the help of acrylic colours and fabric paints so the shoes can be washed and reused without any hassle.

But that's not all! Garima even delved into creating shoes for weddings and even created a pair for Harleen Sethi! "It was an experiment," she reveals about how it began. "My friend was getting married and wanted to wear comfortable shoes on her big day so she could enjoy the day as well rather than complain about how much her feet hurt in heels. I created my first pair of wedding sneakers for her," says Garima who's designs then hit it off! "I began getting many more requests after this and it took off well."

She even makes her sneakers wedding appopriate by adding a ton of lace, ghungroos and more fancy stuff on the shoes that are known to last for over two years!

The artist who's creating begin from Rs. 1,200 has even begun to create shoes for children and caters to all age groups!
