Each bride is unique in her own way; the only thing we are obsessed with is making them look gorgeous in our outfits. We always go an extra mile in giving our undivided attention to every Shyamal & Bhumika bride to ensure they are extremely happy. We make sure the hand-holding process happens in order to ensure the bride is comfortable and then help them in picking the best outfit for their big day!

Since ‘destination wedding’ is the current new trend; how should a guest pack for the gala event without paying excess at the airport?

For destination weddings, we have specially designed embroidery techniques that give the encrusted shimmering look without being too heavy. We also think that the more voluminous items like the cancan skirts, hangers, etc, can be couriered ahead (we make them separately on request) and the family should travel with only the most important outfits and jewellery.

What is that one key highlight that you bring to the table when you are dressing or designing for a bride?

We bring to life ancient and traditional artisan techniques infused with modern aesthetics in our intricately hand embroidered ensembles. Each bride is important to us and our focus is to make each Shyamal & Bhumika bride look remarkable on her big day.

How are the brides of today different from the ones 5-10 years ago?

Brides nowadays are well traveled and come with great exposure and awareness compared to brides a decade ago. The advent of social media and the opinions and references it has in a bride’s research as to what she wants to wear itself is remarkable. Today, brides are well aware of global trends in terms of the outfit references, hair and make-up, décor etc. They follow global weddings and have an idea of how they want to put together their own perfect wedding. They see their wedding as an escape from their professional careers to make their ‘fairytale fantasy’ come to life.

Name your favorite bride for whom you absolutely loved designing and who stands super close to your heart.

It is impossible to pick one bride as a favourite. Each bride is close to our heart as we feel special that they chose us to dress them for their big day. We love designing for our brides, keeping in mind their setting, theme and most importantly their personality and preferences. Our brides make us feel very special when they send to us their wedding images with testimonials of how proud they are of being the perfect Shyamal & Bhumika bride.
