Punit Balana’s creations are quite the obsession when it comes down to Bollywood celebrities. From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Shilpa Shetty and Janhvi Kapoor, Punit’s creations have been quite a riot amongst the leading ladies of Bollywood. So, while the designer was showcasing his new collection at the recent Fashion Week, we managed to sneak in and ask him a few rapid-fire questions about his favourite trends, bridal outfits and more.

A current trend that you are obsessing over

PB: Honestly, I’m not a fan of trends but currently I am liking those boot-cut denim and the way that it has made a comeback.

A Fashion piece or clothing that you absolutely hate:

PB: I’m not a fan of those net lehengas so that is something which is a big no-no for me.

A lesser-known clothing piece you wish was more famous:

PB: I think, those fishtail lehengas - the ones which were famous in the ’80s that these popular heroines used to wear. I think the beauty of it is very under-rated.

Shilpa Shetty knows the right way to have fun even on a runway as she turns showstopper for @punitbalanaofficial . . . @theshilpashetty Swipe to see more! #shilpashetty #lfw #lakmefashionweek #style #fashionweek #runway #runwaystyle #bollywood #fashion #model #style #runwaystyle #fashionrunway #bollywoodstyle #styleicon #trend #runwaytrend #fashionmodel #actor #pinkvillafashion #pinkvilla

A fashion faux-pas that everyone should avoid:

PB: I don’t think so that there's anything. According to me, everyone has a different personality and whether or not they can pull off any trend.

What is the perfect bridal/bridesmaid attire according to you?

PB: Honestly, it depends upon every individual, but my clothing is such that comfort is the first and the most important factor which I keep in my mind. The garment should be comfortable even if I’m making a lehenga and if it has a 30-metre Ghera, it has to be the most comfortable. So my idea is to be comfortable first and then one can actually look nice and enjoy their big day.

One fashion Advice you’d like to give every girl out there:

PB: I think, always, don’t follow trends, don’t say, ‘oh, that’s looking nice on her, so I should also try it.’ Never do that! It’s a big NO! Everyone knows what looks good on themselves, if not just try and find what looks nice on you. Don't just blindly follow what people are wearing or don’t try and look for what is trendy. It is not going to work. It has to be something that looks good on you. If you find something good you like then just wear it!
