Fashion Faceoff: Sonam Kapoor or Deepika Padukone: Who wore the white cape style pantsuit better?

Celebrities sporting eerily similar or even the same outfits is not a very rare phenomenon today. They are either inspired by one another or just love the pattern to much to care. We’d like to think it is the latter! But it gives us great scope to compare not only designers but also how each of them carries off the design in their own unique way. In today’s faceoff, we have two of Bollywood’s most popular faces. One is known for her excellent acting skills in films and the other for her undisputed fashion and style.

Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor have both been giving us some excellent looks off late at the Cannes film festival. But what we couldn’t help but notice, was Sonam’s red carpet outfit which reminded us of Deepika’s outfit at Madame Tussads!

Sonam Kapoor opted for a custom-made Ralph and Russo pantsuit which created quite a power statement. Her white blazer had a cape style finish to it as it bore a long train. She opted for a brilliant emerald necklace by Chopard that looked stunning beneath her blazer that had a plunging neckline. We love how simply she completed the rest of her look – a classic bun, winged liner and glossy nude lips. At the red carpet, we can’t help but think Sonam stole the show!

Deepika Padukone on the other hand picked out a cape-style pantsuit by Alberta Ferretti to unveil her wax statue at Madame Tussads. Unlike Sonam, the Padmaavat actress opted for Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings rather than a neckpiece. She too opted to pull her hair back into a low bun. Nude lips and shimmery silver eyeshadow made her look like a million bucks.

Though we love both the diva’s looks, we can’t help but lean more towards Sonam’s Cannes red carpet look more. Everything from her styling to hair and makeup is on point!
