It is wedding season and Indian brides have a favourite designer label which is neither Manish Malhotra nor Sabyasachi Mukherjee! Known for their gorgeous mix of ivory white and gold, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have an innovative style. With Chikankari which is their hallmark look, the designer duo have created a name for themselves in the fashion world.

Their outfits are the picked by A-list Bollywood brides for their big days since the ensemble with the classy colour palette designed by the duo exudes glamour and royalty.

Deepika Padukone was the most recent one to don a glorious outfit created by the designers. She looked ethereal in an ivory and gold Chikankari ensemble created by the designer duo. Paired with fine jewels from their collection, the Piku actress looked nothing less than a queen at her reception.

The occasion doesn't need to be just weddings. Sara Ali Khan also admires the label and often sports the glorious designs created by Abu and Sandeep. The gold on the outfit compliments her skin making her look like the diva she was born to be.

It is clear that the designers know the colour palette for grandeur and don't shy away from experimentation. This frill saree in gold and ivory is a perfect example of how they have reinvented the iconic saree and maintained the glamour of the ensemble.

Alia Bhatt is a budding fashionista and doesn't shy away from trying out new stuff but still knows how to carry off the iconic look. In this classic gold and white piece with dazzling mirror-work by the duo, she looks no less than a sparkling star!

Unlike most designers who play it safe, Abu and Sandeep experiment. They stick to the colours they know look the best, but their patterns have a refreshing twist to them. This embroidered gold and white floral patterned lehenga sported by Kiara Advani is case in point.

Apart from patterns, they also experiment with trends. The off-shoulder look may have trickled down into street style, but only this duo can easily turn it back into couture. This bespoke gold and white bridal outfit worn by Shloka Mehta is trendy yet a classy piece.

Bell-sleeved tops was another trend that was widely seen on the streets. The duo used the idea and twisted the look to create something so fashionable and glamorous at the same time. Alia Bhatt sporting this detailed lehenga and cropped shirt with bell sleeves and a collar left us stunned!

Taking the classic and giving it a modern twist is clearly a knack they have! Deepika Padukone in this saree with an embroidered cape is a bold look we don't think any other designer would be able to create. Especially not with so much glamour added to it!

We are not surprised that fashionista Sonam Kapoor also opted for an Abu-Sandeep creation for her Mehendi day. With the attention they pay to detail, their choice matches well with hers. She looked nothing short of a princess in this masterpiece.

But the obsession with the designer duo is not sudden. It has trickled down through generations. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan are perfect examples of this. The Bachchan beti and bahu have opted for the designer's label at multiple red carpets, Diwali parties and of course weddings!

A clear fan of Abu-Sandeep designs, Jaya Bachchan wears their creations occasionally. She loves how they reinvented the zardozi and shared their obsession for chiffon and silks while avoiding synthetic fabrics. Eventually, she became their lady in white (and gold) and wore first pieces from their collection for many years.

Dimple Kapadia is another yesteryear actress who was occasionally seen in Abu-Sandeep designs. She was fond of their brocade and benarasi silk designs.

Jani and Khosla have been in the business for over 25 years and it is clear that they know fashion and the market well. They have adapted and improved their creations to match the times, still making them relevant and in demand.

Their classic gold and white palette has been maintained, and how!
