Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding planners, Shaadi Squad give us details about their wedding
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy on December 11, 2017
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding has to be one of the biggest news of the year and was also a super grand affair. The wedding saw two of the most celebrated celebrities come together to be “bound in love forever”. The couple got married in an intimate ceremony in Italy on 11th December 2017. Their dreamy wedding set a lot of hearts abuzz with most of the couple and singles wanting to get married!
Their wedding like most of the weddings took months of planning and recently Shaadi Squad, the planners of Virushka’s exotic wedding got in conversation with an online wedding portal giving out details as to what went in the planning of the entire wedding.

How did Shaadi Squad end up being the planners of the wedding?
Shaadi Squad hail from a film production background and because of that they had worked with Anushka on various projects. The actress first approached them in early July but the planners didn’t take it seriously, it is only after a few days when she followed up, is when they thought that it was really happening. Both Virat and Anushka didn’t load the planners with a lot of brief, just that the couple wanted it to be an intimate affair with a cosy and comfy atmosphere with greenery and an open ground location.

How did S.S chose that dreamy Italian property?
After receiving the brief they shortlisted a few properties based on suitable weather, not too hot not snowing either and a place that has direct flights and the travel is not really hectic. A location that did not have a lot of tourist traction during that period was also one really important factor so that the privacy is maintained.
After a lot of brainstorming the talented wedding planners shortlisted on five properties for various locations,on the basis of weather, rooms, availability and connectivity. As reported earlier, Anushka always wanted to marry in a Tuscan vineyard. Borgo Finnochieto perfectly fit the bill as it was a private village with a limited number of rooms and quite spacious to hold all the outdoor functions. Shaadi Squad also mentioned that the Borgo team was a delight to work with as they synced in with our understanding regarding the confidentiality of the clients.

How did you manage to pull off this huge affair as a secret?
The wedding planners always knew that it was a high profile case and for them and client confidentiality has always been a priority. Apart from Shaadi Squad it was just the two families that knew about the wedding. Everyone they worked with were made so sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and even though every vendor had signed the agreement no one knew who the client was. It was only in October that Devika Narain, who did the decor for the wedding was told about who the clients were and that also because we wanted the decor to have personal touches of the couple. The rest of the crew were told about the couple directly at the venue in Tuscany.

Indian weddings are a maddening affair with a lot of professionals involved, how did you’ll manage to put it all together
Apart from Sabyasachi (who designed Anushka and Virat's wedding wardrobe) and her hair and makeup team, everyone else was brought on board by the Shaadi Squad by themselves. The planners personally met each and every vendor and briefed them about their role. They have always chosen options which are cost-effective irrespective of how extravagant the budget of the wedding is. Shaadi squad, along with Anushka’s personal team of hair and makeup, decor, photography and videography were the only ones who were flown in from India. Catering was taken care of by Ritu Dalmia’s team based out of Milan. The dhol and saree drapers were from Rome and Mehendi artists were from London.
And now we know why this breathtaking wedding was the biggest kept secret of 2017
