Sonam Kapoor - Anand Ahuja wedding: Here are the EXCLUSIVE deets of the actor's trousseau

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are finally getting married on May 8th and the whole of Bollywood is gearing up for this mega event. The ecstatic and overjoyed families shared their happiness with the world as they released a formal statement confirming all the rumours, speculations and conjectures surrounding the wedding.

The woman who single handedly brought momentum and character to fashion in India would surely want to look her very best on her big day. The Neerja actress has always had her designer favourites and she has made it obvious over and over again. If rumours are to be believed, she's collaborating with her designer pals Ralph & Russo for one of her wedding outfits. The buzz is strong that the British fashion powerhouse have designed Kapoor’s wedding reception lehenga. The pretty actress and the design duo have a long standing professional and personal relationship and she has worn their custom looks at various events, including at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The beauty was a vision in white and looked like a pure Goddess as she closed her debut couture show for Ralph & Russo Fall/Winter 17 collection at the Paris Fashion Week. Kapoor's diamond-embellished dress was a sight to behold, featuring a dramatic ivory train, silver-white head gear and a matching choker.

Rumours also suggest that the gorgeous bride-to-be will be wearing a custom Anamika Khanna ensemble for her wedding and honestly we are not surprised. Sonam Kapoor has been an ardent Anamika Khanna fan and her appearances are proof. Kapoor and Khanna together posed for the cover of Brides Today for their February 2018 issue, dropping a major hint.

Sonam is great friends and shares a personal camaraderie with design duo  Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and Tarun Tahiliani. Abu-Sandeep recently designed costumes for Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s much awaited release Veere di Wedding; hence we won’t be surprised if we see the beauty don these designer’s creations for some of her wedding functions.

We also caught hold of their wedding invitation cards and as per them, Sonam Kapoor’s Mehendi ceremony will take place on May 7, 2018, at the banquet hall of her new apartment, Sunteck, Signature Island. The dress code for the event is Indian Festive - Shades of White.

The wedding ceremony will take place at Sonam Kapoor’s aunt Kavita Singh’s residence on May 8, 2018. It will be an afternoon wedding between 11 am to 12:30 pm. Sonam and Anand will exchange garlands at the temple in the bungalow. The dress code for the event is Indian traditional. Later in the evening, Sonam and Anand’s families will host a ‘Party’ which will see their family members performing. This will take place at Sonam’s close friend Samyukta Nair’s hotel The Leela in Mumbai. The dress code for the party is Indian or Western formals.

Their wedding invitation card categorically mentions, ‘Your presence on our special day is the only gift we desire.’
