Sarees are without a doubt one of the easiest and classiest outfits that are perfect for weddings. Whether it is cocktail worthy saree gowns, ruffled outfits, simple chiffon ones or full on printed drapes, there is no going wrong with the classic ethnic number. A new trend on the block is pairing the saree with an ethnic jacket or coat to give the traditional number a modern spin. 
Making it look elegant as ever, our favourite Bollywood leading ladies have been sporting the trend and adding the versatile layering piece to the wardrobe, keeping in mind the winter season approaching.

Sonam K Ahuja

In a white saree by friend and designer Anamika Khanna, Sonam Kapoor looked like a boho princess. The saree featured a multi-hued thick border with resham embroidery in the form of floral motifs. To play with her outfit, Mrs. Ahuja paired this with a jacket filled with intricate thread work with tassles and pompoms, making for a fun festive look and a practical choice for a winter wedding. 

Shilpa Shetty Kundra
An ardent fan of the nine yards, Shilpa picked out an elegant striped saree in ivory and dull gold. She layered it with a matching knee-length jacket to add on and give it a more regal look. Style your hair into a slick ponytail to further glam up the look. 

Karisma Kapoor
For a more formal look, take inspiration from Karisma Kapoor on how to style a saree in the most unconventional look! Rather than draping the pallu around the shoulder, drape it around the neck and sport a blazer over like Ms. Kapoor did. To further accentuate the look, a thin tan belt should do the trick. 

Sonakshi Sinha
To give the look a milennial twist, Sonakshi Sinha donned a conventional saree with an unonventional cape. The chiffon cape came with a detail pattern border at the hem. The cape was pinned at her neck giving an illusion of a high collar making for an elegant look overall.

Kajol
Get on trend and do colourblocking right just like Kajol! We love how she donned a dusted gold jacket over a bright orange saree and held it all together with a jazzy gold belt. Style the pallu over your jacket for a more sophisticated look. 

Kangana Ranaut
Everybody knows about Kangana's love for her drapes. But she too joined the bandwagon by sporting a simple neutral tone saree with a thick border. A simple black coat that she wore over this completed her look. The perfect addition to your saree that looks comfortable and makes it seem like you mean business!
