RIP Sridevi: 6 reasons why Sridevi will go down in history as a style diva

Not only was Sridevi an evergreen beauty but she was also an inspiration to many. Her untimely demise has left the nation grief-stricken

She inspired young girls all over the country to step out of their comfort zone and follow their dream of becoming an actress. Not just that Sridevi also made a mark in the world as a fashionista and served style inspiration to many. Be it the young and new or coveted and veteran designers; Sridevi was every designer's favourite muse as she loved experimenting with fashion. 

After a certain point, our Bollywood actress' tend to find a safe haven when it comes to style and stick to that, Sridevi, however, always pushed the fashion envelope and was always seen adorning the latest styles and trends and was not afraid to be on board with the latest fashion. 

They say you have one life, you might as well live it to the fullest and have fun with fashion while you can, and Sridevi did just that.

Manish Malhotra's favourite muse, Sridevi, had an envious bag collection and loved trying new and quirk style of glasses for her airport looks. The late actress was always dressed fine and classy, looking elegant, chic and polished. Listed below are 6 reasons why she will forever be a style icon: 

1. No one carries the saree off with as much grace and elan as Sridevi

Sridevi loved adorning a beautiful saree. From silk chiffon to organza and more, she wore all sorts of sarees and paired it with the right blouse and accessory. From sequin, contrasting, embroidered, cape style blouses, she had fun with the good old Indian silhouette and made it look new each time she wore it. 

2. She always got her desi looks right 

When she was not wearing a saree, for desi events, she would always pick the right desi attires such as flowing anarkalis, blouses paired with a cape and dhoti pants, ruffled anarkalis, feminine lehengas and more.

3. Her airport looks were always a delight 

Sridevi never shied away from posing for the paparazzi and her airport looks were always chic and a delight to witness. From breezy dresses to cotton maxis, jumpsuits and more; she paired with fun glasses and trendy handbags, her travel style was always comfy-chic. 

4. Her trendy red carpet appearances 

There were seldom any carpet appearances were Sridevi would have turned up looking mellow or under-dressed. Her classy and refined style reflected in her red carpet appearances as well. 

5. Ditching the dresses she also made pants look stylish 

Not only dresses but Sridevi also wore a lot of pantsuits, palazzo pants and wide legged pants. Since her style was more polished, refined and classy, she would seldom make appearances dressed down in jeans and with a simple tee. When it came to styling pants she would always either wear them in fabulous jumpsuits, cord-sets or pantsuits. 

6. She pulled off white like a boss 

The pristine and pure colour white is a rather hard one to pull off. It is not the most faltering hue and can be difficult to style, but it seems it was Sridevi's favourite colour as she was seen wearing white and shades of white on several occasions. From jumpsuits, gowns to sarees, anarkalis and more she wore the colour very often and nailed her look each time she wore it.
